How it's made

We wanted you to know more about how our shoes are made. So we went behind the scenes to give you a glimpse of the process and explain the steps behind your favourite shoes.

STEP 1

We acquire leather from individual tanners, ensuring that it is clean and ready to use. The leather is sued in almost every part of the shoe, from the sole to the lining!

STEP 2

Once the leather is at the workshop, it is cut into different sizes, for the base and the upper parts of the shoe.

STEP 4

If the shoe has any embroidery, this is done on a triangular piece of fabric. Once the embroidery is complete, it is pasted onto the leather.

The corners of the fabric are folded inwards around the leather, and stitched, and any remaining corners are glued. In the absence of embroidery the same is done with printed fabric. This creates the base and the upper parts of the shoe.

STEP 6

Once the base and upper parts of the shoe are ready, the whole shoe is stitched together. After this, another round of quality checks takes place, where we check the size, and for any damages or discrepancies. The edges are smoothed, and the artisans leave their marks on the back of our soles (note, the tan and red colour of the soles).
